Final Paper Brainstorm

I'm hoping to explore the area of collaborative writing spaces in workplace settings, focusing on the use of wikis to do this. I am particularly interested in the following:
1) what services/benefits/setbacks they provide
2) how they aid in communication practices, or change communication practices
3) how certain things are negotiated - who writes what, when, why

I'm expecting to add to the list after doing a little more research. I think I will be drawing on work from Brian Street, James Gee, The New London Group (for starters) and some of my wiki spaces research from my Web 2.0 presentation.

Rachel-
I think this focus on wikis in the workplace is a good one. What sort of approach do you expect to take - will you use some anecdotal evidence from your own experience or rely mainly on other scholars' writings? My guess is that there should be some research specifically about wikis in the workplace out there.
Another thing to keep in mind is who your audience will be. Will you steer this toward professionals - urging them to adopt wikis or not. Or will you target prof comm teachers, urging them to use wikis or not because of their relevance to the professions? That's probably something you will come to as you research, but I think it will change your overall argument.

PS-Might check out some work by Matt Barton. He's been presenting on wikis for a while now and might have some intersting things to say.
